TIMEC Press Releases
TIMEC to start mechanical work at Frontier on September 4La Porte, August 30, 2007 – TIMEC has moved its management team on site at the Frontier Refining Inc. (Frontier) facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is setting up for its daily maintenance project, according to a recently-signed three-year continuous service contract. The actual mechanical start date is scheduled on September 4, with about 25 employees. All jobs are heavy on piping as well as structural and foundation work, with some including instrumentation and electrical work. Despite the scope of work, most activity falls under the new capital project category to be tied into existing units, ruling out any downtime at the refinery. TIMEC Site Manager Larry Reynolds stated that TIMEC is currently assessing several projects in the alkylation unit, tank farm, amine unit and other areas. “The TIMEC team at this site is experienced, hard-working and dedicated to making this job successful,” Reynolds added. “TIMEC has a lot to offer Frontier as far as safety, reliability and project controls.” Frontier’s refinery at Cheyenne has a crude capacity of 52,000 barrels per day. The company markets its refined products primarily in the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountain region and eastern Wyoming. Thanks to its coking unit, the refinery has historically processed heavy crude oil. The facility’s product mix includes gasoline, diesel fuel and asphalt and other refined oil products. TIMEC is a leading global provider of maintenance, turnaround and construction services, operating in a diverse range of industries including oil and natural gas; petrochemical; water and wastewater; and food, among others. TIMEC, jointly with its parent company Transfield Services, has over 20,000 employees, working across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South East Asia, and India.
