TIMEC expands along the Gulf Coast

La Porte, Texas  –  Wednesday, 03 February 2010

TIMEC continues to expand along the Gulf Coast SE and NE region as it seals deals with refiners and petrochemical producers for further work in 2010.

In Texas, TIMEC continues to provide specialty services, particularly welding, at the Shell refinery, and it just concluded a catalyst load/unload job that included hydroblasting at the DuPont plant in La Porte. TIMEC assigned several hours of specialty work at a BP facility as it completed a high temperature repair and inspection job in January and committed to a one-week hydroblasting, catalyst handling and welding job estimated at $800,000. Additional catalyst work is slated for the first quarter at ExxonMobil.

In Louisiana, TIMEC executed two contracts for turnaround services at Murphy Oil, effective January 2010. The initial catalyst work is expected to surpass 11,000 man-hours while the work to be performed on exchanger bundles is anticipated to hover at around 30,000 man-hours for an estimated value of over $2 million. Mechanical and catalyst handling services are scheduled at the Chalmette Refining facility to support reactors work. Man-hours are anticipated at over 5,000. TIMEC is also scheduled to provide high-temperature repair services at Georgia Gulf Chemicals.

Farther East along the Gulf of Mexico, in Mississippi, TIMEC was awarded several jobs among which stand out safety and catalyst change-out services at Chevron, with estimated individual values of around $250,000.

North East, in Indiana, TIMEC recently concluded high-temperature repair work at BP as part of its maintenance support to the client.

Although the economic recession has affected all sectors across the US, TIMEC continues to be the preferred provider of maintenance and turnaround services.

TIMEC and its parent company Transfield Services are leading global providers of maintenance, turnaround and construction services in a diverse range of industries including oil and natural gas; petrochemical; water and wastewater; and food, among others. TIMEC, jointly with Transfield Services Ltd., has over 28,000 employees, working across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South East Asia, and India.
