Announcing Transfield Services' new MD and CEO

La Porte, Texas  –  Thursday, 26 March 2009

Message from our Parent Company’s Chairman, Tony Shepherd

Transfield Services has appointed Peter Goode as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, following a comprehensive international search.

Peter has a strong track record of successful leadership in outsourced services globally, with more than 30 years experience in the oil and gas and services industries globally.

Most recently, he was chairman of both leading international oilfield services company, Expro Group International, and global leader in working-at-height safety solutions, Capital Safety Group.

Prior to that, he was President and CEO of global oil services company, Vetco International, based in London. From 1998 to 2004, he held senior executive positions with leading global energy and information services company, Schlumberger, which has a market capitalisation of approximately US$50 Billion and 80,000 employees world-wide.

Peter’s strong commercial and leadership skills and international industry experience will further develop our strengths and sustainability. He has the strategic, commercial and industry expertise necessary to lead Transfield Services through the current economic challenges and to the emerging opportunities in our global markets.

Employees might be interested to know that he started his career as a petroleum engineer with Santos Ltd in Adelaide, South Australia in 1983.

He was also formerly a senior executive as well as a research scientist for global energy services company Schlumberger where he published more than 30 technical papers and was awarded four patents. One of these patents was for a Modular Dynamics Tester, (MDT), which became the highest revenue earning product in Schlumberger’s history. The MDT replaced expensive surface testing and fluid sampling, which could cost up to ten times more than the new process.

Peter holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Adelaide. He grew up in a farming community outside Adelaide. Peter and his wife, Jenny, have been married for 25 years and have two children; Lucas who is 23 and Manika who is 16.

Peter will start with the Company on Monday, March 30, 2009 and will be based in the North Sydney, Australian office. He will visit our global offices and meet with our teams as soon as he can. He will also be meeting with our key stakeholders, including shareholders, investors and clients.

On behalf of the Board and the entire Transfield Services team, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Managing Director and CEO, Mr Peter Watson for leading the Company over the last eight years.

I welcome Peter Goode, and know that you will give him your full support and a warm welcome to the Transfield Services family.

Regards,

Tony Shepherd

Chairman
